Because it has literally saved my life. A friend introduced me to vinyasa yoga after my sister (who could never talk and who had difficulty walking) died. I have found that the breath and movement of the practice stirs up what is “stuck,” and the stillness of Savasana at the end of the practice provides a sacred space for me to let go of what no longer serves me. Don’t know what I would have done without it. It has helped me heal myself physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually one practice at a time. That is empowering.
My why is to continue to create overall body positivity for myself. Learning how to move my body and accept it as it is each day when I approach any form of practice has helped me mentally regain some of the long lost confidence in myself and is helping me better appreciate & accept my body and it’s abilities.
For me, who as always been an athlete in one form or another. I always lived a busy life with hard impact exercise to go with it. I fell in love with yoga as it was the hardest workout I've ever done. It has brought me peace and stability within myself both mentally, spiritually and physically. But, it also shared me a new career I want in life and love it.
