A Practice to Offer Feeling & Sensation

25 US dollars
Elmwood Road

Service Description

The holiday season, while joyful, often brings with it an elevated sense of stress and a nervous system running on overdrive. Take a necessary pause and join Maggie Olds for a profoundly grounding and sensation-focused experience designed to bring you back into balance before the most intense weeks of the year begin. This intentional practice is an invitation to settle, notice, and allow. We will move away from the 'doing' and shift into the 'being,' The session is structured to permit your body the freedom to physically execute 'what it needs to do,' without judgment or expectation. As you move, you will become the observer of your own internal landscape, watching what unfolds, and in that space of awareness, creating the opportunity to reflect and consciously choose your response, rather than simply reacting. What to Expect: All-Levels Experience: This workshop welcomes practitioners of all experience levels. Modifications and variations will be offered to ensure everyone finds their perfect edge. Low to Moderate Heat: The room will be held at a comforting, moderate temperature to encourage warmth and deep relaxation without being overly strenuous. Subtle Movement and Rest: The practice will weave together gentle, subtle movements intended to unlock held tension and awaken proprioception, mingling these with extended, supported moments of rest and stillness. This rhythm allows the nervous system to down-regulate effectively. Exploring Internal Sensation: The core of this workshop is the exploration of sensation. Attendees will learn how to feel sensation—physical, energetic, or subtle—and observe where that sensation guides their mental and emotional bodies. It is a deep, personal inquiry into the mind-body connection. We recognize the importance of integrating these practices into your daily life, especially as you navigate the hustle and bustle of the holidays. Therefore, we will dedicate time at the close of the practice for reflective discussion and journaling. This integration period is essential for grounding the experience and setting compassionate, conscious intentions as you move forward. Space is deliberately limited to ensusure an intimate setting. This small group size allows Maggie to offer personal hands-on assists (for those who desire them) and maintain a balanced, supportive energetic container for all participants. Reserve your space now to secure your spot for this essential pre-holiday reset.
